Who we are
Zero Transit is a go-to-market studio. We take new brands from idea to market: web, web apps, mobile (iOS and Android), creative video, and the GTM strategy that ties it together. Most early brands lose weeks bouncing between a brand shop, a dev agency, and a marketing team. We put all of that under one roof, so there are no handoffs and no lag.
Idea to market. Zero lag.
The role
We're looking for a Mobile App Developer Intern to build apps that actually reach a store, not demos that stay on a simulator. You'll work directly with the founder and alongside the designer whose screens you're building. Because there are no handoffs here, you won't get a spec thrown over a wall; you'll sit with the person who designed it and take the build all the way to release.
This is a hands-on role for someone early in their career who wants the full picture: architecture, API integration, device testing, and what it actually takes to ship to the App Store and Play Store.
What you'll work on
- Build app screens and flows for iOS and Android from Figma designs
- Integrate REST APIs, authentication, and push notifications
- Handle state, navigation, and sensible offline behaviour
- Test on real devices across screen sizes and OS versions, then fix what breaks
- Help get builds out through TestFlight and the Play Console
- Work through real client problems, not hypothetical exercises
What we're looking for
- Projects (or coursework and side builds) that show how you think, not just what you cloned
- Working knowledge of React Native or Flutter, or native Swift or Kotlin
- Comfort consuming APIs and reasoning about app state
- Git basics: branches, commits that explain themselves, pull requests
- An eye for detail and the patience to match a design down to the last 10%
- Self-directed, comfortable in a small team where nobody hands you a 40-page ticket
Bonus points
- You've published an app to the App Store or Play Store
- Familiarity with Firebase, Supabase, or similar backend services
- A feel for animation and micro-interactions on mobile
- Some grasp of app store listings, onboarding, and what makes people keep an app
What you'll get
- Real ownership. Your code ships to real users, fast.
- Direct mentorship from the founder, who works across product design and development
- Exposure to the whole pipeline, from design to build to store release, instead of one narrow slice
- A portfolio of live, shipped work by the time you're done
- A certificate of completion at the end of the internship
- A small team that moves quickly and takes craft seriously
Details
- Type: Internship
- Location: Remote
- Duration: 4 to 6 months
- Certificate: Yes, on completion
This is an unpaid internship. What you get instead is real shipped work, direct mentorship, and a certificate of completion.
